The Rescued Eye
What a babe, isn't it ?
Well, here is Eliot's left eye which he nearly lost when he was a puppy.
Eliot IS an extravagant dog - a fact that we didn't know at the time - and according to his true self, he has always hurt himself in such a spectacular way that he often puzzles the vets.
The Rescued Eye Day happened three years ago : the two puppies were wildly and snarlingly playing in the garden, when the tiniest one came back home panting, exhibiting an amazing eye the size of a golf ball, bulging out of its socket !
While M. was busy panicking, her alien looking dog waited for her to take him to the vet : he had this something-has-gone-wrong look on his face but he didn't even complain.
Needless to say that the vet was not optimistic at all, and told M. to get ready to soon walk a one-eyed four-month- old whippet in the park.
He started by turning the eyelid inside out, a medical act that had a direct impact on the master : M. turned greenish and fainted. Therefore, we don't know what happened to Eliot afterwards...
Anyway, both came back home heavy with medecines and a funny feeling in the belly.
A week later, the vet was happy to see that the golf ball eye had not only diminished but also returned to its rightful socket !
We never really know what happened that day though we deeply suspect the bamboo shoots to the be Enemy Number One.
